Women Warriors: Healing from Trauma
The upcoming God's Word for Warriors's virtual course, Women Warriors: Healing from Trauma, will be conducted in conjunction with Dr. Karon Uzzell-Baggett, OTD, OTR/L, and her company, Specialized Occupational Therapy Services (SpOTs) LLC.
This 5-week educational online course will discuss trauma, its impacts on your health and how to cope with trauma in your life. Women servicemembers, whether active-duty or retired, are the target audience because women are the fastest-growing demographic in the veteran community.
The educational course will begin on Thursday, August 20, 2026, and last through Thursday, September 17, 2026. It will run from 7:00PM CST to 8:00PM CST and attendance at all five sessions is encouraged.
Dr. Karon Uzzell-Baggett is a certified and licensed Occupational Therapist in Nashville,
Tennessee with a passion for working with people who want to live safely in their homes and
communities and actively participate in various activities that give meaning to their lives. She is
also a retired United States Air Force officer with a passion for helping veterans. She served in
various postings around the United States, Germany, Italy, Afghanistan and Uzbekistan. She held
successive leadership positions and accumulated numerous awards during her career.
After retiring from the military, she worked at a local university before following her own
academic pursuits. She graduated with her Occupational Therapy Doctorate and has experience
in pediatrics, in-patient and outpatient rehabilitation and skilled nursing rehabilitation. Dr.
Uzzell-Baggett started her own private practice to address health disparities, change the
traditional dynamics of geriatrics and create better health outcomes for individual clients and
groups.
